Here at Yeguada Cor de Salinas our aim is to breed beautiful and graceful, black jumpers.
In reality when we have commented our ideas to the equestrian world, many have laughed, saying the only thing that we should worry about is if it jumps, nothing more.
Yet the Germans have spent many decades selecting horses not only on their potential and jumping style but on their form as well, and the results of this are in plain sight. For example all the French breeders are importing the German genetic lineage to improve their “Sillas Frances” breed.
It is so very true that an attractive horse is easier to sell than an ugly one.

And on admitting that, we also have to say, it’s not only the aesthetics but the coat that counts as well.

And as always we adore the glossy, black, coat, seeing this as the distinctive trade mark for our stud farm.

But of course everything has to be prioritised and held in the correct order.

First things first, and with our horses this mean their jumping capacity. Since our business started in 2006 we have been clear that the most important part of the process is to acquire mares and stallions in Europe with the best genetic lineage for jumping. This was not easy as we discovered the black coats were not renowned in the jumping categories, but having said this we feel we have managed to create a good base to start from. Within the pedigrees held in the stud farm, you will find many famous names from the “Sillas Frances”, KWPN, Wesphaliano, Hannoveriano or Trakhener, such as Jaguar Mail, Escudo1, Polydor, Lord, Graf grannus, Carthago, Nermus R, Sixtus EH, etc. Firstly they must jump well, but also they must have a good character, must be black and of course beautiful, with this combination we believe we have created the perfect horse. Now our dream is coming true, the first foals have been born and are very promising, so we now invite you to see our range, where you will see that not all are black, some of the mares arrived at our centre already impregnated by other breeds.
